I just finished the first chapter of my novel “Wonder Keeps the Stars Apart”. I would really love for someone to take a look at it.

It is about a girl named Ava who dropped out of college because of money problems. She finds herself stuck back in the small town she grew up in and wants out because she doesn’t think she can truly live there. While Ava is trying to find out who murdered her best friend Chloe-Ann, Ava will find herself tumbling down a rabbit hole that will forever change her.

    Thanks!

I think your story sounds interesting. I too am working on a book in the paranormal fiction relm. I personally love those kind of stories and so they tend to be what I write these days. The story I’m trying to finalize is about a girl named Emily who discovers that she is smack dab in the middle of the supernatural world and she’s not totally sure she wants to be there. She finds out that she is meant to hunt vampires around the same time she finds out vampires exist. I am worried about a few development points and editing issues. I am going the indy rout for publishing and want to try and make my book as polished as possible. I would love to find a partner with similar interests and has experience with the genre and can tell me honestly what they feel works and what doesn’t.

I am like both of you — I am writing a YA steampunk vampire novel and will likely go the indie route as well since I’ve read that agents and publishers are finished with vampires. I have quite a lot of experience critting and need help from someone who loves the genre and is willing to be honest about what works.

My current book (looks like it’s turning into a series) is about a young witch who finds out that evil faeries want to kidnap and sacrifice her baby brother. I’m going to try the traditional route, but will go indy if that doesn’t work. As for vampires and werewolves, I love them!
