Looking to Critique

I'm currently writing...

Fantasy short stories (from 1, 000 to 7, 500 words), fantasy novellas, and an occasional Young Adult fantasy novel – one I’m focusing on now is about a wizard who sends an aspiring wizard to find a special key she lost; another is about a teenage girl who makes friends with a ghost who haunts an old, rundown house while the girl and her family fix it up – the girl lived in the early 1900′s.

What is your writing experience?

I’ve had three short stories published, as well as a juvenile fantasy novel. My productivity depends on my part-time job schedule, usually 1, 000 to 1, 500 words a week.

My writing influences are...

Ray Bradbury, Agatha Christie, and numerous others I’m probably not even aware of.

Books I enjoy reading

Mostly murder mysteries (cozies and hard-boiled thrillers); also science fiction (more fantasy than space opera) and psychological thrillers.

More About Me

I’m 72 years old, long-retired but working part-time transporting foster kids to and from appointments. I live in Lodi, California, near Stockton, and have a son who will soon be married (but no grandchildren). I worked for many years as an Executive Assistant, and I’ve done some newspaper publishing, real estate appraisals, and marketing research (both writing and processing surveys, and doing field interviews). I’m interested in anthropology and seismology, and I love to play Scrabble.
