I just finished writing a book about a teenage thief who steals more than she bargained for–the key to the apocalypse. Now she has to team up with Cal, a member of the ancient Order she stole the key from, to steal it back before all Hell breaks loose.

I am published, but with a small indie publisher (not self-pub) several years ago, and I’m actively seeking an agent. I usually write about 5k words/per week.

There isn’t a whole lot that doesn’t influence my writing–media, other books, tv shows, real life experiences…

The last book that really floored me was The 5th Wave. My tastes do run mostly YA; my favorite authors include Veronica Roth, Cassandra Clare, Jackson Pearce, Holly Black, Frannie Billingsley, Robin McKinley, Michelle Cooper, and Barbara Kingsolver. Oh, and J.K. Rowling, of COURSE.

I live in northeastern Pennsylvania, with my husband, two dogs, and two cats. I work full-time as a phlebotomist, though my goal is to work full-time as a writer. I’ve been at this for about seven years now, which is why I’m looking for a critique partner to help me figure out what I’m missing.
Did I mention at all that I’m kind of nervous about this critique thing? It’s like putting up naked pictures of myself on the internet. Except I’m not sure I wouldn’t prefer the public nudity.
