I’m writing a contemporary gothic romance. Miranda is a young artist struggling to overcome a difficult past. On an island off the Maine coast, she finds love in the form of Owen Larsen, a kind-hearted landscaper with a gift for making musical instruments. But despite its beauty, the island has its secrets, revolving around the death of a beloved painter, Suzanna White, seven years earlier. To start a new life on the island with Owen, Miranda must discover the truth about the island’s history — and why Owen keeps appearing at the center of it — before her own past catches up with her. |
