Re: e-book pricing question

Hi Marianne,

You are thinking only e-book, correct? You might want to consider offering it at 99 cents for a limited time – sort of an introductory offer – then take it to $2.99.

As a purchaser of multiple e-books weekly, I am more likely to spend the 99 cents on an unknown author (which you will be with a 1st novel). After I am familiar with the author, if I like their work I would readily part with the $2.99.

One of my favorite websites for indy authors is Smashwords. Many of their initial offerings are free. This is a wonderful way to build readership. Sort of slide your readers into paying $$$.

However, I can certainly understand the financial pressures to make some bucks for all that hard work!

Hope this helps.
