Hi there. My name is Kathy.
I’m a twenty-something writer of YA fantasy looking for a critique partner of group who write or are interested in similar stories. The fantasy I write is in the same vein as Lewis, Tamora Pierce, or Tolkien, rather than more urban fantasy or dystopian. I also dabble in YA sci-fi and contemporary fiction, but prefer to focus on fantasy.
My current WIP is about a teenage girl who puts on a ring that’s been handed down for generations. The ring transports the girl to another world, where she finds that she now has magical powers. She must use those powers to help an obnoxious guy save the world from an evil mag bent on conquering it.
As far as critique partners or groups go, I’m looking for people who are interested in the same genre as me, even if they aren’t necessarily writing in that genre. I read a wide range of books (everything from regular YA fantasy to urban and paranormal, to sci-fi, chick lit, contemporary fiction, dystopian, and lots of other stuff) and have experience critiquing other people’s writing. I am tough, but honest and try my best to help your writing improve. I can critique in almost any capacity from line edits to overall checks for consistency and anything in between.
Oh and I have a degree in English Lit.
If you’re interested in learning more about me or my writing, feel free to contact me. I’m always happy to meet new people.
