My last post got me thinking. I love checklists. The trouble is, I have too many so I never end up using them. I’m a checklist hoarder.

Do you use checklists for any part of the writing/revising process?

If you do, and you could only keep one, which one would keep?

I dutifully did a “character ID page” like all those non-fiction writing books suggest and end up NOT using them or forgetting what I wrote in them…
I have a very loose outline as I like to improvise…
so I guess no checklists for me – unless it’s an historical novel, in that case I need checklists of things to research or change in the plot! 😉

I love character creation pages, but I don’t consider them a checklist and don’t need them to write my story. They just help develop the personality and maybe some flavor here and there in the story.
