I am new around these parts, and I’m not quite sure how things usually go. I’m looking for a CP that will put up with me for the long hall.
I’ve never had a critique partner before and I’ve read enough writing advice columns and blog posts to make my head spin. I realized that what I really need is someone who is equally invested in their writing and as serious about getting published as I am (and hopefully better with grammar) to bounce ideas off of and to tell me when something just doesn’t work.
I have the first chapter of my current WIP for you to read to see if you like it. I also have a short story that you can view to get a better picture on my writing style. Just let me know if you want to give it a shot and we can exchange some work.
I’m not picky with genre, I write YA Sci-Fi/paranormal but I’ll read just about anything.
I’ve dabbled here and there with critiquing. I’m not an expert by any means, but as much as I love to write, I also love to read.
With that being said, I have just started dabbling into YA/NA (fantasy) genres with my writing, but I do also write Adult PNR. Both are currently in need of critiquing, but seeing as this is the YA group, and I’ve just begun, it will take precedence.
If you like we can give it a trial and see where we land. I tried scribophile for awhile, but there wasn’t any building of friendships. In some ways it felt, to me, like a rather large competition. I received a lot of useful feedback, don’t get me wrong, but I prefer a more one on one approach.
Anywho, feel free to shoot me a message if interested.
