I finished Nanowrimo in 2006 and 2007 (I think? Has it really been that long?) but have been unable to commit to it since because of school (worst possible month if you are in college), but I just graduated in April, so I’ve been thinking about participating again this year. I think have just the right “silly” idea for a book that I probably wouldn’t write otherwise, and that I won’t freak out over if it turns out really awful!
As Becci mentioned, though, I’m always amazed too by some of the amazing books that started life during Nano! So cool!October 3, 2011 at 2:15 pm #4203
I just signed up yesterday! I am really excited to spend October plowing ahead on my WIP so I can feel guilt-free dedicating November to NaNoWriMo.October 3, 2011 at 6:20 pm #4204October 4, 2011 at 4:27 pm #4205
Those who will be taking part in NaNo, leave links to your pages so we can add each other as writing buddies.

This will be my third year doing NaNo, and it is an excellent time. I’m postponing starting my next novel until november, although it’s not a great time since I’ve got papers and finals due for uni.
Anyone interested in being writing buddies?October 8, 2011 at 2:02 pm #4207October 9, 2011 at 9:06 pm #4208
@lyshadee I’ll be a writing buddy. What’s your username? Or follow the link above your last post and add me.
@Becci Glad to hear you’ll be joining us.October 10, 2011 at 3:05 pm #4209
This is my first year doing NaNo, and I’m really excited about it. I’m mostly doing it to meet new writerly friends and enjoy the support online.October 19, 2011 at 6:26 pm #4210
Hopefully this works. Writing buddies, go!October 20, 2011 at 3:50 am #4211
This will be my first year doing NaNo too. Really excited. Going to try really hard, even though my schedule is hectic!October 20, 2011 at 4:33 pm #4212
Good luck to you all!!!!!!!! I’ll be skipping out this year but I did it last year and it was very fruitful. I’ll be rooting for you!October 20, 2011 at 4:45 pm #4213
I’ve signed up for the first time. I’ve never written that prolifically 50k in a month. But I’m stuck never ending editing of the MS I finished earlier this year. I need a kick in the pants to start a new project.October 28, 2011 at 4:13 pm #4214
Lurker commenting at LWC for the first time:
I’m stepping in with fear and trembling. I’ve only ever “done” NaNo before (’06, ’10) when I had “social backing,” i.e. from my husband. But this time I have “free time” and am just making the choice on my own.
Which feels a whole lot more like I’m ON my own.
Maybe that’s why I’m speaking up here. So as not to be lonely…
My NaNo handle is Iliamna, but I’m finding so many faces I’m not sure how to tell them apart and I’ll might add really slowly.October 28, 2011 at 6:23 pm #4215
Ooh, NaNo is right around the corner! I had dropped out last year but this year I’m gonna do it! 🙂November 3, 2011 at 4:22 pm #4216
I’m participating in NaNoWriMo for the first time this year and am so totally excited! I’m trying to think about it like Jani mentioned earlier- whatever work I do is writing that probably wouldn’t have been done otherwise. Even if I don’t win, I’ll still be increasing my word count in a pretty major way!
Since it’s day 2…how’s everyone doing so far? =)
